I listen to r&b, hip hop, indie,country..to give examples, im currently listening to timbaland,OneRepublic,Dashboard Confessional,The Cult, H.I.M., etc.
He listens to a VARIETY of stuff.Anything from turkish music, to opera, to eminem,Jay-Z, and "Current" hip hop songs.
Im looking for a meaningful song right now that expresses how I feel about him. Im SORRy that I have created such a distance in our relationship and Im scared to lose him. I want him to be happy, I want "us" to be happy, I want him to know he is my world, the love of my life, that Im sorry we arent who we used to be, but I'd do anything for him to fall in love all over again...
Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Music seems to heal souls, so thats why Im asking.

If I were you, I would write a little song and use everything that you put above as your lyrics and keep it simple and sing it to him....he would love that...(if he cant appreciate it, then dump him...)...
I'm a musician and Ive actually written songs for the women in my life and they always love it.
Be creative and keep it simple.

Why,don't you understand that he wants out.A song is not going to make thing better.Hit the books move into the dorm or find a place to live.If he wants you he will find you not stay out with the boys all the time.Get your education the think of love.Don't know who is paying for your schooling but use what you are getting and move on you don't need a man or boy to do this just YOU.There is no music that will heal the soul just time,and something to do keep busying.
