It was one of those rare days in early April when nature lets us taste the sweet spring that is coming.

If it isnt does anyone know what literary element it is????

Irony is using words to express something different from and often opposite to their literal meaning.

You're statement is personification. Where you're attributing human abilities to something inanimate.

it's a metaphor. Spring really doesn't have a taste.

Sounds like figurative language to me. (you can't actually 'taste' spring)
