Factor it -> (7x+3)(x+2)
----------
(If you FOIL that, it does = 7x^2 +17x +6)
(7x^2 + 14x + 3x + 6)
----------
Solve For Each Set:
7x+3= 0
7x= -3
x= -3/7
x+2= 0
x=-2
----------
Answers:
x= -2
x= -3/7

you mean without the quadratic formula? in that case, try factoring. are there factors of 6*7 = 42 that add up to 17? yes, 14 and 3, so

7x² + 17x + 6 = 0
7x² + 14x + 3x + 6 = 0
7x(x + 2) + 3(x + 2) = 0
(7x + 3)(x + 2) = 0
7x + 3 = 0
x = -3/7
or
x + 2 = 0
x = -2

= (7x + 3) (x + 2)

7x + 3 = 0
7x = - 3
x = - 3/7

x + 2 = 0
x = - 2

Answer: x = - 3/7, x = - 2
