The darkness doesn't "go" anywhere, because it is not a thing in and of itself - it is just our human eyes indicating that there is a lack of light in the room. Darkness is the absence of light. A good way to think about it is this : If you go into a dark room, you can turn and a light, and the darkness is no more. But if you go into a lighted room, can you somehow spread darkness and make the room dark? Only if you extinguish the light - but that is not the action of darkness. Again, it is only by taking action on the light that darkness can be created.

When you switch on the light, some of the energy generated by the power station turns into light in the room. That energy has come from fuel that was originally generated from sunlight. As the sun gives off energy, it gradually becomes darker. In a few billion years time, the sun will go dark. That's where your darkness has gone.

You must surely know that "darkness" is simply an absence of light.

A more intriguing question would be, "where does the light go when you turn it off?" Since light is bouncing around the enclosed room, where do the beams go when the light bulb is turned off?

The darkness is still there, you just can't see it because of all that light. If you turn the light off you'll see the darkness again.

It wasn't there to start with. Dark does not exist.. It is a lack of light . Everything you see is visible because light rays reflect from everything and our eyes and brain turn these reflected light rays into images No light , no image. can't see it . therefore dark..
