I fell down the stairs and had to wear a brace on my wrist for a couple weeks. I have taken it off, but still have pain at times. Certain ways i bend it brings the pain on. Also, there is alot of snap, krackle and pop in there now. How do i know if i sprained it or fractured it. I can't afford an x ray.

You don't know for sure without an x-ray. If there is a fracture and it is not treated correctly, it won't heal right and you will have problems for the rest of your life.

Most important thing is to ask a doctor, but if you don't feel like doing that I'll give you advice from injuries I have gotten myself. I have fractured my ankle and sprained it as well. If you sprain it, swelling will start immediately after you get it, it has that tingly sensation, but you CAN put a bit of pressure on it. If it is broken you should have heard a crack. The swelling does not come right away, and it does not get as swollen, but it stays swollen longer. Also, I am not sure when you got this injury but a break heals within a few weeks, while a sprain can take much longer (fracture means the bone is broken, sprain means the ligaments, connectors, etc are all torn and messed up).

If they took an x-ray and mentioned it was once a sprain, then it is in all likelihood a sprain. Some sprains are a lot more extreme than others. What I could do is take a few soreness killers and preclude jostling the arm, and if the soreness hasn't ebbed in any respect through the following day, I'd return to the medical professionals.
