Whats the nicest neiborhood in bakersfield CA?

i have found many homes i like but i would like to know what the nicest neighborhood/area is, and if bakersfield is a nice city to live in, if not, where is??

please help! im a first home buyer

There are some nice homes in Bakersfield and the surrounding areas are really nice. This is the gateway to the Yosemite area and there are some really amazing small towns in the foot hills. but remember, it gets really hot during the summer and is far from the beach. Now that the freeway (5) bypasses the Bakersfield the town is not as busy as it used to be. but that can be a plus. With Ca. Real Estate prices down it could be a good time to buy in the area. good luck
