When the motor is cold for about the first 3 miles it sputters, shutters, and shakes, and sometimes dies. but after it gets warm it seems to run fine....Any suggestions or has this happend to you. What is causing it????? It only has 3000 miles on it and the plugs are clean.

Check the air filter. Try running some injector cleaner through the tank

Hmm seems like all Yamaha's 1100 and up have that problem...( I have a 2001 V-Star 1100) One mechanic told me that they just run rough when cold. I just let it warm up real well before taking off. Full choke for a few sec, then half-choke a few more, then cut choke off and let it idle till its real smooth. (about 2 minutes or so is good, just till I get my helmet strap fastened, jacket snapped up and gloves on) You can also try adjusting the mixture regulator (mine's under the gas reserve petcock) but i have better luck with the Warm-up routine.

It's a cold blooded bike.
It takes a while to warm up to operating temperature.
After you get it started and run it for a minute or two, leave the choke on halfway and ride away.
Remember to turn the choke off all the way after a few miles.

Check air cleaner, run some Seafoam through it and keep the choke on a little longer. Roadies are bad for being cold blooded

check the air filter. the other thing is are you warming the bike up enough. personally i leave the choke on till i can feel the engine block warm slightly the i put on what gear i have to then set off. its better for your engine to warm it a little first and never drive with the choke on.

those seats are a discomfort interior the rear to get off. Push down on the front of the seat on a similar time as you're turning the foremost counter clockwise - to open. attempt turning the foremost and shop stress on it. Then slam down the front of the seat to launch it from the latch. attempt pulling up the seat a splash and turn the foremost. shop fiddling with it till you get the incredible technique down.
