It depends on the crowd I am with. I would say that when I was in high school I was not very popular with my classmates. I went so far as to purchase a tee shirt as a joke that said "Follow Me I'm Popular" on it. I now work at a high school and I know I am popular among my students; I am the hip young one that still sort of knows trends enough to be cool. It all really depends; popularity is matter of perception and that perception can change with different groups of people. I think I am pretty nice to everyone, but I am the opposite of a party girl and maybe the reason I am not popular is because I respect my body too much to consume alcohol or do drugs. I am 27 now and most people respect my personal decision not to drink or smoke or do other bodily harm to myself. I don't need popularity, I'm better than that.

No I am unpopular but I treat people nice but I do have a bad attitude when people get on my nerves and in my school you have to act "Ghetto" to be popular and I just don't do that.

I like to think so. I usually treat People nice, because I am a nice Person. I can be a B.... too, if someone thinks they can run all over me. My Niceness is not my Weakness I consider it as an Asset.

The "popular" concept is lost to the University Campus unless you're president of something.

But in highschool, no. I had my group of friends that I hung around with but I was friends with many people whom I would greet in the halls. I was liked, but I would never be nominated for student president or anything.

Among men? Yes. Chicks tend to be haters eventually. Although I've been running into some pretty confident women lately who are married, like me, and who don't really have to feel like we're in competition.

Popular is subjective, and being liked and being popular are two different things.

I am popular among my friends and well-respected and liked at work. How do you define popular? It's not like what I see in mind-numbing movies or in high school.

i was popular in high school and still had a status when i got out of high school and was in college. now i've moved 1800 miles away, to CA, and i've acquired quite a large group of friends. i suppose you would call me the center of attention in the group. but i don't ask for it.
sometimes i like it, but sometimes i hate all the drama that comes with being popular and having a lot of friends. [[especially female ones.]]
people like me because i'm nice and considerate. i'm not a giant CUN7 like in the movies. the weird thing, in high school, was that i was in ORCHESTRA of all things. a person like me is never portrayed as popular in movies.

No, I am very unpopular. People don't treat logical people with kindness, they like extroverted beauty queens. I wish people could treat different personalities with respect and kindness.
