You know, when they ask Am I pretty? And then there's always a handful who tell them the honest truth(me.) and then the people who say you're beautiful no matter what/you don't need make up/etc, when everyone knows damn well that she looks like she belongs on the evolutionary chart.
I'm aware that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but you just know they're all just bullshitting the kid so she won't have self esteem issues and will be happy that someone told her she was pretty for a day and then ask the same thing again.

I just get annoyed when people do it because it's not helping the kid anyways. They want someone to come up to them and tell them, so they'll just keeping asking if their pretty everyday to try and get the same feeling.

and what exactly is the problem with doing what you can to boost someone's self esteem?
BTW, I'm not condoning lying. I usually just skip it because I hate the "i'm so needy I have to get strangers to tell me I'm pretty" thing. But I also don't think there's anything wrong with following Thumper's Rule (if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all) or simply offering a basic compliment. Besides, it's just a photo. It is your personality that truly makes someone ugly or attractive.

But I do hate the ones that say they are 30 when they have so much snow on the roof they are more likely pushing 43...

I tell the truth, i hate it when girls are like oh this is my friend it isn't me do you think she is pretty?? I am like don't lie we all know it is you..why would anyone care if people thought there friend was attractive or not..

My dogs are prettier than some of the girls on here. They're very pretty dogs, though. And they never fish for compliments.

If the girl is average looking, I will tell her delicately that she is average looking. If she is as ugly as she can be, I just don't answer the question. Why be mean when you don't have to be?
