HAS ebay overcharged me?

Question

Hi, i have recently sold 2 games on ebay, uk. They were both on buy it now, 5 day auction, with a gallery picture and one picture.

They were both on at 24.99, with 1.50 delivery and the charge for putting the auction on ebay was ( as usual ) 30-40 pence,
Yet when both of the items sold i was charged another £2.16 each!!!!!!!!!

Has ebay overcharged me? If so how should i approach ebay with this problem, if not why am i charged a large sum when the item is sold.

If you read the fine print on ebay's rules and regulations with selling, you will note that there is an additional charge once your item sells. It really depends on how high you sell your item for, and depending on the end price, ebay will take a percentage of your sale.

They did not overcharge you....it is part of their charges. Most people overcharge on the shipping and handling charges to compensate for those other charges.

You have to pay for services like you would with any business. Ebay has a corner on the marketplace because they have no real competition. They are going to give free pictures soon and if not you can find a free picture host to put them into your listing. I never have insertion fees. Yes Paypal has 3% fee on top of the 9% seller fee. You cant rip off the customer because they can find a cheaper one on Ebay. Ebay is a liquidation marketplace. If you want more money, go to a classified ad site. You can sell to a dealer. You can advertise in a lot of places and not pay fees like Facebook. There are some sites like ETSY and UPILLAR.
