Im also an Athiest, speaking of likely myths, but im humble enough to not bash people for thier beliefs.

it is not full of people, there is rather a 'bunch',but you had made a good statement, you don't believe in most of the subjects of Alternative science or mythologies ,but at least
you respect every ones opinion, hey there are really great
people in all the others categories in science and math, and to tell you truth,i like scientific subjects, but i like alternatives
subjects as well,as a matter of fact i have seen questions about UFOs in astronomy / space, and the answers they received to those questions are not answered in the style
you see in the alternative,so once again is just a 'bunch' of people sorting out their frustrations

If someone in the science section is making a claim that ghosts, ESP and other phenomena that have ZERO scientific substantiation then I think it's perfectly fair to expect, in this OPEN, PUBLIC forum, some degree of criticism. That criticism needn't be malicious or childish, but sticks and stones...

The only time I get counter-productive is when the same questions appear over and over again from people who don't bother educating themselves on even the most fundamental level. For the rest of the questions I try to be helpful and informative.

My guess is that the blank-head bashers haven't quite figured out that this is a question-and-answer forum, not a debate forum.

non thinking reptilian brained attack defense close minded primitive reactive behaviour. It takes no thought what so ever to go out of your way to try and screw up someone else day and make them feel bad. If the only way to feel good or important is to destroy another persons views or their psyche then u definitely got some problems there to work through to move to higher brain functioning and reasoning. It takes much more brain juice to try and understand a new idea or concept, or see something from someone elses point of view, best thing is to ignore these kinds of peeps cos all they do is suck energy, destroy, b_itch, moan, WAAAAAA!!!!! ME! ME! ME! ME! ME! you wont be able to break through their closed minds, until they are ready to accept that the cosmos may actually have things that are outside of their picture of the world of collective human knowledge. Do we know everything there is to know? i dont think so :)
I find atheism interesting, because personally i dont believe that all existence is percieved by us yet, and there
are levels of existence that we just dont fully know about or understand, my mind is open to possibilities i havent thought of or been told about, my brain is switched on to extrapolate my own meaning and understanding, NOT just what someone else has told me. baa-aa-aa! mooooooo! NOT! lol. thanks for posing an interesting question :)
I'm always open to consider new views, because when i do, i know more than i did five minutes ago :)

If the terms ridiculous, silly, nonsense foolishness,,hoax are considered bashing to you.I guess I'm guilty. That's not my intention and I don't apologize. These terms are not meant to be insulting. They are what Science uses to describe the incredible garbage that shows up in this section.Personally I think it's insulting when this foofwraw about ghosts and psychics is even discussed in Science. No real Scientist takes it seriously,no one.I don't want anyone who happens to chance on this forum. To get the idea they do.Now if you would like an example of bashing. How about" @#$% Heads"?

I believe the bulk of the problem comes from the fact that paranormal is placed into the science and math category. People trying to get questions of a mystical nature are basically asking people interested in science and math.
The repeated questions, "how telekinesis works?", "can any psychics help me?", and "please describe your supernatural experience to me?" which seem to come up every 2-3 hours get extremely annoying.

Then again there are a few people who just like to bash people.

I encourage the use of the report abuse button when answers are both not helpful and insulting.

My guess is they're desperately seeking a question that they actually "can answer" using those two remaining brain-cells from which they operate on daily.

I think all the closed- minded people (bashers) should get thrown on an island. And then we could nuke it. :0)

Really. People like that are responsible for Afganistan.
