Doesn't bare thinking about, but really the English language hasn't really changes a lot over the past couple of hundred years has it?
I remember one time finding a really old bible and trying to read it, I did get a bit confused when I discovered the letter 'f' should have been a letter 's', for example " The Lord will succour you" Meaning comfort you!
But as the 's' was actually an 'f' it reads completely differently!
Maybe this was why I became atheist??
I actually broke off here and went to my local for a few ales (I always think better when I've had a few ales)!!
I had a few and was listening to some young folk standing at the bar, I realised I could hardly understand a word they were saying? It was obviously English and they were all locals, but they may as well have been from Mars, they all spoke in abbreviations!
OK I give up, I have no idea. But I have decided to go back up there now and have another listen in!! Not very PC I know but 'f' them!

To see a real difference in the language, you'd need to travel a few hundred years into the future as language evolves very slowly. Every year dozens of new words are inducted into the English language and meanings change with each generation, however, you would still be understood if you went back a hundred years.
I think that Gangsta is just a modern aberration and won't become mainstream speech.
