You should try Tokyo Mew Mew! it's so good! Funny, some romance, and shojo!
Tokyo Mew Mew's English dubbed version is Mew Mew Power, but i STRONGLY reccomend watching Tokyo Mew Mew and just reading the subtitles. they edit the stuff in Mew Mew Power way too much!

I second Seto no Hanayome. It's a great series, with some unique humor. It's about a boy who becomes engaged to a mermaid, but her father doesn't want her to marry. But her father, while still a merman, is actually the head of a mob as well.

The user that uploaded Seto no Hanayome also has some other pretty good and recent shows up there, namely Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei which might be even funnier.
