****? babies shoud be on breastmilk ot formula until age 1
OHH i see waht you're saying. i think you should ingnore whata lot of the "older mothers say now" i do anyway because medicine is more advanced and they now what best these days. you should wait until 12 months
babies still need the nutrient from breastmilk or formula until then. iw ould def go to a different doctor then. i just talked to mine and it's 12 months i swear by it. you mya be able to let the try it but they should still be on breastmilk and formula

Everything I've read says you can start **** milk between 9-12 months of age. How early you start usually depends on how allergy prone your child is likely to be. If you have a family history of food allergies, the longer you wait the better.

I started my son on **** milk during the days at 9 months but continued to give him formula (I'd just finished breastfeeding) at bedtime and first thing in the morning.

If your pediatrician has advised you to wait... I'd wait. Whats the point of asking your doctor for advice and not following it? Really, it's only a month.

It's homogenized milk.

I started my son at 10 months. The pediatricians in my area say 12 months. I started my son early for a couple of reasons:

1. He kept taking my niece's cup and drinking her milk while she took his bottle and drank formula (she never had a bottle or formula, but she must have liked it).
2. He was 10 1/2 pounds at birth - so he was the SIZE of a 12 month old (bigger, actually) at 10 months. He is "normal" sized now!!!

I guess you should go with what your pediatrician recommends. How about transitioning to whole milk by giving that in a sippy cup and whatever else your child is drinking now (formula or breast milk) in a bottle? That way you can kill two birds with one stone?!

Pediatricians recommend you wait until the baby is a year old.

If he has had yogurt, cottage cheese, any type of ice cream before he's one year old without any reaction, he'll be fine.
I just spoke to my pediatrician yesterday about this (I wanted to know if American cheese was okay for my 10 month old son) and she said the rule "one year for cow's milk" is more about not replacing your milk or formula until they are a year. The nutrients we can provide or that formula provides are not found in cow's milk and are so important up to a year.
My son has had cottage cheese and yogurt daily for a few months now (to provide protein, mostly) and has been fine. I nurse him, and have started weaning him. I don't plan to replace his breast milk entirely with cow's milk, but also don't plan to nurse him longer than 15 months.
I hope this has been clear.
Good luck!

I would wait until 1 year I say it would be okay to give it to him here and there but not as his main source of nutrition. H o m o milk doesnt have as many of your childs daily needs and he more then likely isnt eating people food all the time to make up for the vitamins he needs at this time. So I would ask my ped for more advise but I would wait.

Starting on homogenized milk before age of 1 year can give the baby an increased risk of allergies. I personally wouldn't start a baby till closer to the recommended one year birthday.

It is advised that babies stay on formula/breast milk until they are a year old. Then once your child's doctor gives the OK...you can move them over to whole milk. (the milk that you are talking about.

do you mean homogynized COWS MILK?

Its not 9 months-- its 12. SO you're 4 months early. I'd stick with formula.

homogenized or whole Milk is what your refering to i'm guessing.. My doctor suggested that i keep my baby breastfeed or on formula until 12 months (1yr) then on the whole milk for another year because they need the fat intake.
