Mitt Romney has like the cleanest track record out of any of the presidential candidates, he turned around the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics from a $379 million deficit and make a profit, he is a successful entrepreneur, He has degrees from Harvard and Stanford, he fixed Massachusetts's health care system, he's never had a divorce, he has a strong family, and he has good values. Why does the fact that he's mormon keep people from voting from him even if they know all of the other stuff? JFK was catholic, but did you see the pope taking over the country? Why should Romney be any different?

Why should anyone care if Mitt Romney is Mormon? Mormons do let you see some of their worship practices, they just don't want you to be there for their most sacred ones. Besides, it's not like other religions are so much better, or have such different values. All [most] religions teach basic fundamental values in life. It makes almost no difference whether he's Mormon, catholic, protestant, or whatever. Mormons actually have a stronger family value than Christians. It makes you wonder if these things are just thrown on Mormons by other churches to make them seem not as important, or holy (since all religions think their path is the only true [or best] one), as they, themselves, are.

If you have seen the mormons in action, such as packing fellow mormons into jobs in federal civil service (not just in Utah), or if you have read contemporary accounts from the 19th. century of their massacring wagon trains full of people (not just a one-time thing, it was how they survived for many years) to steal their goods, money and children, then his mormonism becomes very important.

He fits the mold very well. He will do anything to advance his own or his cult's interests. Truth is not owed to "gentiles".

No comparison the JFK.

He fixed the winter olympics in Park City by bribery.

The country has a very strong distrust of mormons, with cause. It is a shame that after B.Young had J.Smith shot in his prison cell in Ill. that people fell for cheap sidewalk-magic tricks and followed like sheep,

is it also a good thing that he did next to nothing for Mass in 2006 and went out campaigning while still earning a paycheck for being the supposed governor?

I don't care what his religion is. But he's certainly not getting my vote for his apathy for his old job.

Imagine how apathetic he'd be as President. Do you think he'll beat Bush in his total number of vacations?... hey, maybe within only 4 years he'll beat Bush's own record within these 8.

I don't care about his religion, I oppose his IDEAS and his CHARACTER. He changes his position on issues based on what he thinks will get him elected. He has one thing on his mind, and it's POWER. He will say or do anything to get elected. He's slick, handsome and rich. Mormonism is full of silly ideas, but so are most religions. I wouldn't mind polygamy nearly as much as continuation of the Iraq occupation. He's against #1 and for #2.

When JFK was running for President, people were very concerned that the Pope would have a say in what JFK did as President. We now know that Catholicism didn't even have much of a role in what he did in his personal life. Personally, I think Mormonism is very cultish and just like it's his personal choice to be a Mormon, it's my personal choice not to want a Mormon as my President. I get one vote.

Education. I am a "Mormon" or more correct, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I have seen and heard some of the craziest ideas from people who claim to "know", but have no clue, including the majority of what I have read here. If you are really interested, visit www.lds.org or www.mormon.com and learn what they really believe.

As for why anyone would be hung up on religion, if someone is true to their faith, it will tell you about their character.

Honestly, I have a problem with the religion thing, even though I don't necessarily care what religion a person is-to each their own, if that makes sense...Like mentioned, I hear Mormon and I just get cult like visions....to me, it's the equivalent if a Scientologist were running for office....sorry just my opinion.

hey cloudsRus, you don't know what you are talking about.

1. The Mormon church outlawed poligamy over a hundred years ago.

2. Mormons go by the Bible first, the book of Mormon second.

I don't no why their hung up on this crap, it was the same way in the sixties with Kennedy, everyone was talking about him being Catholic and how it would influence his decisions, it didn't. I know the liberals are going to play it up real big just because he is Republican. The only thing I would object to is if he was a Muslim that would be unacceptable, this country was founded by Christians and I don't want to see any Muslim in our white house ever.

Jim Cramer said he was "perhaps the best CEO in America".

I think he'd do great things for the country, no matter where he goes to church on Sunday.
