Tampa Bay has owned Dice-K this year. Why??Who knows...............It sucks that we didn't sweep them last night, but what are you gonna do:-)But I will say that his team gives him barely any run support when he pitches, which is ****.2 ER over 7 IP or however long he stayed in the game is not bad at all.He deserved the win last night, but his offense just was not helping him out.

Own Dice-K? They don't own him, he's simply the victim of horrendous support. In 3 losses against the Devil Rays this season, he's pitched 18 1/3 innings and allowed 10 R (all earned). However, in two of those three outings he's allowed 2 runs while Boston's offense has struggled to produce runs against the worst pitching staff in MLB.

Here's a fact for you, in 76 wins this year, Boston has averaged 6.8 runs per game. In 51 loses, they've averaged 2.5 runs per game.

Bottom line, it's not Dice-K's fault.

His ERA is 3.76 in the AL. He has 172 ks in 170 innings this year. He is averaging 6 2/3 innings per outing. His strikeout to walk ration is close to 3 to 1.

To say that he is overrated or only average is completely wrong. He has had no run support when he pitched this year, and he should be a strong Rookie of the Year candidate, though, he probably won't win because of his record which is the only thing out of his control.

They beat him up for 6 runs in 6 innings last week, but in his other two starts against them he's given up 2 earned runs in 14 innings. Even with that poor outing last week, he still has a very decent 3.60 ERA against the Rays.

I'm not a Sox fan, but that loss last night wasn't Dice K's fault - that one is on the offense.

"own"?

He gave up 2 hits and 2 runs in 6 innings. While striking out 8.

What are you talking about?

Out of those three he was only hit hard in 1 loss. The other 2 he was just a hard luck loser.

He is 13-10, pretty much a little above average. He isn't all that great. I'm glad they are beating him though, helps the Yanks.

because of akinori iwamura. iwamura played against dice-k in japan and had great success against him so he probably has an advanced scouting report.
