i cant move up down left or right on my pokemon stadium2 n64 rom?

i have a pokemon stadium 2 rom and i can push b and a but i cant move up down left or right so i cant choose matchs or pokemon please help!
also i have Project64 emulator

Are you using the "analog stick" or the "D-Pad"? You can only use the D-Pad in Pokemon Stadium / Pokemon Stadium 2.

In Project 64's option menu you have to set the controls. EDIT: click inside the box for each pad and then it will ask you which control to use. Just press the buttons you want for each control.
