Batting for the first time in a ODI , Shahid Ali Khan Afridi of Pakistan took the Sri Lankan bowling on sword hitting 11 sixes and 6 fours to reach his magnificent hundred in just 37 balls at Nairobi, Kenya in 1996.This is the fastest hundred scored in a ODI so far. He also shares the record for the second fastest hundred with Brian Lara scoring a 100 on 45 balls against India in 2005. In test matches Sir Vivian Richards of west indies scored a 100 in just 56 balls against England in 1985-86. The fastest double hundred in test matches is scored by Nathan Astle of New Zealand who scored 203 not out on 153 deliveries against England in 2002.
