He is a coward, a theif and has an evil heart. /...

This is also a favorite answer for me here now too. Especially because it is saying something so deliberatly, avoids resorting to blending in "lie". I'm not muac a fan of comments that ruch hastily to thinking of him as a liar. Coward, thief... these are far more accurate from what i can see.

He is a coward, a thief and has an evil heart.

He will say anything to keep war going, he (through the Carslile Corp) and his cohorts are making $billions in profiteering blood money.

The president's failed everyone, including most of the Republicans. The only thing he's ever done about Vietnam is to have the Swift Boat Vets for Lies throw mud on Kerry during 2004. He's caused the current political setup, where neither party is able to get much done. We need a clear majority over 66%.

Bush may have served in the guard (with he[p from daddy so he would not have to go) and money helped him stay on the side lines and not get in trouble. This make him the same as anyone else that didn't go. This is a different time and place, he got us in this "war" and doesn't have a clue about how to win it. Plan ahead?

I always knew the man didn't fight in any war. all you gotta do is look it up. he was brought up in an oil rich family. he went to HARVARD and he was a CHEERLEADER!!!! The role of the dumb hillbilly texan he plays is funny to say the least, when in fact he isn't dumb at all, as he has every american thinking he is illiterate when he isn't. the government can make you see what they want you to see. do they want you to feel less threatened? yes they do. do they want you to see the down home boy from the texas south? yes they do. is he really that retarded? no he is not. propaganda people, propaganda. Vietnam was a death sentence to americans, of course his family wasn't going to let him go over there. how many senators, congress, presidents, or political leaders have kids over there right now fighting beside our friends and family? I'll go ahead and say none now to save someone from having to look it up.

To mention Viet Nam and imply that we could have one if we stayed longer upsets vets who were there, incites people who said "Bush kept the South safe from the Viet Cong" to further despise the man and alienates what few supporters he has left.

Now we see why he needed Rove. Do you think the boy genius would let him walk out and drop THAT kind of analogy on us?

That man will say anything to keep and further his agenda. For even the word Vietnam to come out of his mouth is nothing less then shameful.

he has the right to speak if he chooses. He's guaranteed freedom of speech.

But I do think it will work against him. I get the point he's trying to make, just not so sure theres a real comparison. We were in Vietnam for 10+ years.. will anyone tolerate us being in Iraq for that amount of time?

He has a right to speak of it and the very real problems that this country suffered through both because of the loss of American lives and lasting wounds and because of how the left rose up to divide the country and embolden the enemy which is something that Americans had never experienced before. Just for the record, the North Vietnamese leaders such as General Giap stated that they were ready to surrender and saw no hope but then the American activists tore the US apart and the North was emboldened to hold on as they knew it was only a matter of time before the US would withdraw because of the turmoil at home. Sorry it doesnt fit into your world view but the North credits the American left anti war activists with their holding on.

no I completely agree with you.

I feel I don't have a right to speak about Vietnam myself, seeing as how I wasn't born yet when it was going on. As Bush dodged the draft and most likely didn't catch up on news coverage about it while it was going on, I don't think he has a right to speak about it either, or judge it.
