Yes, tell the NAACP to stop supporting Vick! They are taking the black man back 50 years.

Stay on the case of Vick, don't let up, its not okay what he did and it isn't a sport. It's a sadistic, it's torture and it's cruel. Women should know to stay away from these men as they will be abusive to them and to children.

Dog fighters are often involved in the sale and possession of drugs, as well as illegal weapons. The weapons are present due to the large amount of cash present for betting upon the matches.
Dog fighters and spectators have a history of violent and criminal behavior towards people.
Dog fighting is another entertainment activity for gangs.
It is not uncommon for dog fighters or spectators to involve their children in dog fighting. Research shows that young children who view this type of violence have a greater acceptance of aggressive attitudes and behavior. These children are taught to believe that it's ok to inflict the cruelties they observe and that dog fighting is an acceptable practice.
The dogs that are used for fighting have been selectively bred for animal aggression. Their presence in the community increases the risk of attacks on other animals and also people.
Unfortunately they train them on small dogs and cats to fight. Many times they steal them out of yards when people leave their pets out unattended all day. They end up as Pit Bull bait dogs. Also "free-to-good-home" animals can also end up for bait dogs. They'll tape the bait dog's mouth shut and just let the Pit kill them.

I would say in some cases it may actually help to have that footage on TV. This way people that have not been exposed to dog fighting can see what damage it can cause and how cruel it is. In other words raise awareness that this is acutally happening. The best thing that you can do to help increase the punishment for such crimes is contacting all of your lawmakers, from your local city council, to your local county government, all the way up to your congressmen in Washington. Calling CNN will not help a lot, they will only give you a standard message that really doesn't mean anything.

I am glad you asked this question, and this is my answer.

NO Dog Fighting is not a sport. They can claim it is like hunting, but it is not. Hunter has specific guidelines and is utilized to maintain a average number of wildlife in an area. Deer have specific seasons, and you can't just kill any deer. Does have their season, Bucks have theirs and NEVER is it acceptable to shoot a fawn.

I would hope that somehow this response gets out there into the media, because I doubt anyone in the media and news will ever look at the "set season" for hunting any animal (Unless there is a huge need to reducing the number of a certain animal in an area) If someone is caught hunting/killling out of season its a huge fine and usually more.

Fighting dogs is NOT a sport, its a desire to control fights and somehow show control over life. Even if its a dog, that cannot speak for itself or "get away".
