pull your car all the way up even with the car in front of the space you want to park in. Or if there's no car, just all the way up even with the space. Turn your wheel sharply but not all the way towards the road (not the parking space) Make sure your back tire is very close to the curb, but not hitting it. You can tell this by looking out the passenger side outside mirror. Then just straighten up your wheel and the front end will align with your back end. Parallell parking is the hardest thing to expect a new driver to do. It takes lots and lots of practice.

Pull up past the parking spot, you should be about two feet from the car in the spot in front of the space. then turn your wheels toward the curb, and start backing in. Once your front wheel is even with the back bumper of the car in front of the space start turning your wheel back toward the street as you continue backing up. Once you have made it into the space, pull up and adjust you distance between the two cars, and the curb.

If you have some room, such as in your yard, find somthing that you can stick in the ground to represent the 4 corners of the space, then practice over and over again till you can do it perfect every time. Parallel parking like anything else just takes practice.

Good luck on your test!!

Being a Driver's Examiner here in Minnesota I see so many new drivers focus so much time and effort on parallel parking. Just do the best you can and don't hit anything. It is better to lose a few deductions and get through it than to focus so much time on parking. It will ruin your nerves. Make sure the examiner sees you looking and also remember to signal both the entry and exit.

Good luck on your test.

Practice and more practice. Do it until you're comfortable doing it and you have it cold. It may be a little late now, but I'll try and help you.

Pull up at least even with the car in front of the parking space. They may not have cars there but pylons or metal drums. So pull up at least till your rear bumper is a little past the drum, then cut the wheels to the right to about lock. Then start backing up the car. Once you get to about a 45 deg angle, the center of your trunk, should be in line with the metal drum. When your front wheels get even with the drum, then cut the wheels to the left. This should get you in pretty close, then pull forward to even out the car and center it in the space. When you are done, don't forget to curb the wheels in the correct direction. good luck on the test.

the best:
get 2 orange nose cones , just like the Phone co. uses.

place them in a church parking lot , not sunday
then put into each 2 long sticks ( 1 in each)

now practice your heart out.
then when confortable , go for real dents.

its the only way to learn.

have one you love, standing outside yelling obsenities to you.
like , hey you idiot ? your too close (far ) etc.

my gosh Im doing this now with wifeypoo, but no yelling.

this last point is most effective.
learning while angry really helps.

just get through your test and then avoid it all costs! I hate to parallel park. Be careful. Sorry I can't be more help.

Take a deep breath! You can do it if you've had enough practice. Be careful and use your mirrors! Good Luck
