The surge is having mixed results with no political progress from the Iraqi government. I look forward to Petraeus testifying before congress, then we will find out. Petraeus has integrity and will tell the truth and the nation will learn what he believes to be true.

Politically? No by way of fact it does not negate the undesirable judgements made by skill of making use of Bush and the previous republican congress concerning to Iraq. Bush has on no account leveled with the american human beings concerning to what replaced into happening in Iraq and that, i've got have been given faith, is a extensive reason his approval rankings are so low. human beings do no longer have faith him and that loss of have faith will rub off on the GOP nominee. i've got have been given no longer heard any of the Republicans say that the subsequent step is that if the surge is easily working. For that count i've got have been given no longer heard a republican say what they propose on an identical time as they are announcing "the surge is working". actual different than there is political progression in Iraq there could be no long term stability.

There were many surges and many claims of improvement in Vietnam, but the minute the surge stopped, the VC's just moved back in and things went back to the same. To say the surge is working is a ridiculous and naiive oversimplification. PS: No, I don't think liberals are yet shaking in their boots.

It's not a question of "fright." We see the irony that as the surge succeeds, the Army is pulling back from the mission and declaring that the best it can do is to restore a stable despotism to Iraq.
That's not a twist. That's what the Commanding General of Centcom-A, General Petraeus, is saying.

tens and hundreds of people are dying every day from IEDs, gunfire, and executions. If the surge is working, there sure isn't any proof.

it is?
Looks like to me the country has been flushed down the toilet into civil war chaos.
If its 'succeeding' its because the standards for success have been lowered

They won't admit it is working until the whole country is pacified and the oil is flowing to us without a hitch.
