Well, I don't lose my self-respect by being intentionally crude or hurtful, but I will limit time and conversation with them. We usually are aware of one another and avoidance is a mutual effort. However, I think I am capable of conveying my opinions without name-calling if a person says something outrageously awful.

In other words, we can be polite and express our dislike simultaneously. It happens all the time at work. :)
