This completely depends on how you categorize dangerous. Marijuana does not impair motor reflexes as much as alcohol does; however, it does affect judgement and perception. Different people respond differently to the chemicals in marijuana and it also varies in potency (as does alcohol). Personally, I find that alcohol is a more destructive drug than marijuana (some may disagree). In my experience, it certainly has destroyed more relationships and created more dangerous situations than marijuana has. The primary risk of excessive marijuana use (other than negative affects on lungs, and potential psychosis) is lack of motivation. There are now studies that link marijuana use to increased risk of psychosis and also show that it has a negative affect on people with bipolar disorders and/or schizophrenia. Anything that is not done in moderation can be potential dangerous.

Alcohol is much more dangerous both while under the influence and the long term. Marijuana has no where near as many adverse health affects than alcohol. You can't overdose on marijuana. It is not possible believe me I tried to see if it can happen and it doesn't work, and it's not addicting.

Marijuana is definitely less dangerous than alcohol. We all know people whose lives have been ruined by alcohol, but where are all the millions of people whose lives have been ruined by pot? Has anyone ever passed out on pot, or been not able to remember what happened the night before?

Not to say pot -isn't- dangerous, just much less than alcohol.

Much less dangerous.

Moderation is key to anything, but I know lots of people that have ended up with DUI because they were drinking. I do not know one person with DUI because they were high.

Do not know anyone that has blacked out from weed, but lots that have from alcohol.

Do not know of man beating his wife because he was high, but yes again when drunk.

I could go on for days with these examples but you get the gist of it.
