It does matter, when you leave your computer on all the time, its tough on your motherboard and all the hardware, and particularly the case fan. Running the computer non stop for very long periods never gives these components a rest and makes them more succeptable to breaking down. Think about this, what if you never turned off your car, even when it was parked, and always had it going? Same idea for your computer

It's better to turn it off because my computer got burned opened 24/7

If you use it on and off during the day keep it on but always make sure to turn it off at night. It's good for it to cool off and it's good for the hardware.

it is wise to let the pc cool down, as the hardware inside will heat up and shorten lifespan.

besides the heat that it continually generates when it is on, one big factor is our environment. our pc manufacturers are doing the best that they can in protecting what's left of our environment. please do our part and shut our pcs down when not in use to conserve energy resources. think of it, fuel prices are sky rocketing and every gallon we save helps in maintaining our resources and the prices down.

don't turn it OFF...............put it in hibernate mode, if you can.
then when you re-up, you'll be right where you were.
