An adult friend of mine told me that it was a proven fact that your period stops when you get in water. (like, swimming) She said she has swam before without a tampon while on her period and it stopped. But I've been told that the only way you can get in a pool when your on your period is to wear a tampon or you'll bleed in the pool. So is my friend mistaken or is it true?

Proven fact is a bit of an exaggeration. Your period does slow down a lot when emerged in water, then it will start up again afterwards. But yes, you cold go swimming without a tampon and be fine.

Your friend is completely WRONG. A period does NOT stop in water! The water just washes away the blood.

No it does NOT. Your freind perhaps had a coincidence when her period stopped in the water. Also it is possible that her period was very very light, so while in the water, the small amount of blood that escaped dispersed in the water, so it appeard that it had stopped.

NO they do NOT stop in water, it only LOOKS like it does.

What actually happens is the blood gets dispersed quickly into the water so it looks like it stops or slows down.

Which is why as soon as you get out of the water there is blood by your nether regions and most likely running down your leg.

take it from me. i'm a heavy bleeder, i'm going swimming once I even have my era. I do use a tampon and that i've got not got any issues. If i did no longer use a tampon, besides the undeniable fact that, i could be very anxious and does not have a sturdy time because of the fact i could be afraid of bleeding interior the water. Play it risk-free and use a tampon, that way you are able to savor your swim. think of approximately it. Do athletes no longer swim merely because of the fact they have their classes? i do no longer think of so.

maybe your friend has light periods naturally, but your period DOES NOT stop when you are in water, it keeps on going till it's done for the month! How much you will actually bleed into the water depends on how heavily you are bleeding that day.

your friend is full of it.... NO your period doesn't end when you are in water. It may not be noticed because the water dilutes it, but the flow is still there.
