It completely depends on how dialated she is, how fast she progresses. I was induced 2xs. The first completely closed, it took 12 hours but I was 32 weeks. The second, about 16 hrs, but it ws 6 after i got the epidural. They say it can help the progression, that's why I got it. Congrats

That really depends. If this is her first it could take a while. I was induced with my first and I went into the hospital on a Thursday at 6:00 am and I did not have my daughter until the next day at 8:50 am so I was in labor all day and all night. Now this might not happen of course I am just saying that just because someone is induced does not mean the baby is going to come right out. Nature will take whatever course it chooses you will just have to wait it out.

It depends on what type of induction they do. Sometimes they will put something on your cervix in the afternoon and it will cause you to go into labor within 24 hours, then you labor and have the baby. I was induced with pitocin and had my daughter about 7 hours later.

It all depends on how much pitocin they give her, and her. I wa induced at 8 am and by 5 pm I was only 5 cm dilated and had to have a c-section because the baby was stuck. It all depends on the mother really- everybody is different.

It just depends on the mothers body and how it reacts.

I was induced twice because of pre-eclampsia and both my inductions went quickly, both about 12 hours from start to finish. It can take a lot longer than that though.

I was induced May 17th..baby came her May 21st. It was a long hard painful experience and took a lot longer then I expected (Please don't tell this story to your sister in law until shes done. Don't want to be discouraging) Some people are induced and have there babies within hours.

It really depends. I was induced twice:

Son 1 - arrived at hospital at 6am, they started pitocin/broke water around 7:30am, I had baby around 3pm. I started out not dilated in the least.

Son 2 - arrived at hospital at midnight. They started pitocin by 1am. I was dilated at around 4cm. I was progressing but water not broken until around 7am, I think. Around noon we thought baby would come soon - I kinda stalled and then finally around 2 or 3pm I was pushing. I pushed for quite a while and was close to getting a C-section since baby's head got stuck in my pelvis. Arrived around 4pm.

I was induced on a Monday morning, I got contractions but my cervix wouldn't dilate and she would not drop. I ended up having a c-section 28 hours later.

everyone is different-

don't hate me, but they started the pitocin at 630am, baby was born at 756- would have been earlier but I literally refused to let them check me until I got my epidural...

my first was born 45 minutes after my water broke- went from 4cm to 10cm in 1/2 hour.
