I dont agree that the government should tell us how to dress...but as parents to these children do you give a damn at all that your kids are going out your door with their pants half way down? I think today's society sucks bug time...and the children are a direct result of this laid back society...we need to have morals and ethics people! Dont give me you are taking my rights away BS....teach the children how to lead their lives in a moral way and we wont have to have governments passing these types of laws....

Yes... Just as I am Boycotting.B.E.T, Rap Music and the trio of farrakahn-sharpton and jackson cause my wife says I am showing a "southern" lilt when I talk....Am I acting black? The only real drawback for me is I'll miss the blues,Whereas you will have to change your entire wardrobe...I don't think that the city should need to mandate such a change. Though it does point out an attempt ( allthough a weak one) to stop a trend towards a curiously poor choice in clothing styles.I have seen this same trend towards clothing even in my own home. And it appears to be multi cultural,Even skateboarders dress like that,so I still don't see the "white" angle...Are the city council members all white?

It should be the parents that teach kids how to dress themselves, although it does look like lots of the fail on how to use a belt.
Don't understand how this could be perceived as make people act white. Most thongs that are showing are on under 30's regardless of age. It seems almost normal now to see any race walking round with their "pants" round there ankles.
Personally I don't understand the appeal of having your "pants" round your knees. I've heard that it's to make a point, against what? Belts are really that evil? Does underwear cost so much that it's worth showing off, although some of the sights makes you wonder which is older the underwear or the person wearing it.

I see just as many white folk dressing like the ordinance is trying to stop, as black.
I don't know who made the Atlanta city council the fashion Mullahs but it needs to back off in general.

Government's should not be setting dress codes. Personally I think walking around with your pants halfway down your *** looks ridiculous. But whatever, Atlanta should not care.

Are you saying that if you are black, you have to be crude and show you buttocks to the world. All this time, I thought was a old white male plumber problem. I did not know it was hip to mimic an old white dude.

It isn't just about baggy pants "looking bad." We all know the racial and cultural associations we attach to baggy pants, and we know the REAL anxieties behind trying to bar them. If it were really about forcing one's entire city to dress professionally, then what about really short skirts or studded leather chokers?

How does one "act white"? Shouldn't we all just try to be good people?
And how do you plan on boycotting Atlanta? Did you have vacation plans there?

Baggy pants are part of someone's culture? Who's? I mean they have been around a few years but cultural? No they just look stupid on both blacks and whites.

It's just a belt, though. Look on the bright side, it will keep the bottom of your pant legs from fraying on the bottom.
