First choice, you can rent a pressure washer & just spray it off. Another good way is to use 1 cup bleach to every gallon of water & pour it on affected area only.Do this after sun has gone down, because uv rays deactivate bleach. Leave on area for 48 hours & then spray off with hose. If you rent a pressure washer, there still may be stubborn areas that you need to use the bleach solution on. The run off water won't harm plants due to the time bleach has set on concrete, UV will have destroyed liquid bleach properties by then. Hope this helps!

Unfortunately, the best you can do is to wash off the algae with a nozzle on your hose, or a pressure washer if you have one. Chlorox will help a little bit. I once worked in a greenhouse range, and with our plant pathologist tried a long list of fungicides, algicides and other things to try to eliminate, or at least reduce, the slippery algae growth on greenhouse aisles. Nothing gave more than a temporary solution. Algae just loves wet, warm, shady surfaces, even more if there is any available nutrient or fertilizer. Some people use copper sulphate, but this is very toxic to plants and everything else, and again is only a temporary fix.
We tried a paint recipe of melting parafin and mixing in copper sulphate that we found in an old greenhouse book, with the same result. The theory with this was to imitate the bottom paint used on boats that are kept in salt water. These paints contain a high percentage of copper, to slow the growth of barnacles, and other critters. Good luck.
