Put them in a brown paper bag with an apple. The apples release a gas that will make the tomatoes ripen faster.

If you just pick them and leave them on a table inside, they'll ripen. Warm environments cause tomatoes to ripen faster, while cool ones cause them to ripen slower.

They'll never taste quite as good as vine ripened, but we always put them on the sill of a sunny window. You might also try putting them in a brown paper bag; that works with some fruits.

i've always put my tomatoes in the windows to let them ripen and they taste so much better than store bought tomatoes.

Just leave them set out on countertop. All fruits/vegs. continue to ripen after they are picked. That is why they spoil eventually.
