I can't wait for the smear campaign on Rudy to begin. It will make John Kerry's swift boat attacks look like a joke. Rudy doesn't have a chance, regardless what Fox tells you. He is done before it starts..thankfully.

To answer your question, he is more popular because of 9/11..but not in a good way. He went from a likable character doing cameo's on Saturday Night Live to an evil, fear mongering, war hawk using 9/11 for his personal gain.

Rudy Giuliani in fact did very little to help his city on 9/11 and the time that followed. This is evidenced by the New York City Firefighters Union, and the national union, who oppose his nomination. This man will never be your president, and is a falling star.

Probably, maybe more so. 9/11 wasn't all good for Rudy, many complain that he didn't do enough. He seems to get more popular the closer you get to NYC, because we're more aware of how much he cleaned up the city. If you ask me, that accomplishment was more remarkable than what he did after 9/11 because I saw Times Square before and after Rudy took care of it, and all I can say is wow.

People are a product of their environment. 9/11 did happen. Rudy was there and appeared to be a vibrant, settling, concerned city leader. He was on the networks alot and in the news. He was seen by many people across the country. If it hadn't been for 9/11, Rudy would still be in NYC.

Absolutely not - and when it gets out that he thinks that the patriot act is nothing compared to what he wants to do - I dont think he will have a chance at ever being president - the mans foreign policy plan makes Bushes seem harmless if that is possible -

I'm not sure about his popularity around the country. He most likely would not be running for President right now, had Sept 11th never happened though.

ABSOLUTELY NOT. 9/11 is like his backbone in this election, and if it never happened, he'd just be looked at as a NY mayor who did some good things, but not anywhere near as well-known in the public spectrum.
