Yes, you can do it in Word by going the Special Character or Symbol route. Another way to do it is to use the Alt Key Numeric Codes. See the links below.

I assume that you are trying to put the tilde over the letter n, right? Just hold down the Alt key and on the numeric pad type 0241, then release the Alt key, and ... ñ. Use Alt key plus 0209 for the Ñ.

Have fun!

You can not add a tilda over a letter, but in Word you can click on the insert menu and select symbol to insert many uncommon characters, such as letters with tildas.

If you're on a Mac it's easier, but if you're on a PC:

1. Highlight the letter you wish to accent

2. Click Insert > Symbol
the Symbol Box will appear

3. Choose the Symbols tab

4. Choose:
Font: (normal text)
Note: If you choose a specific Font, it may NOT require a subset -- look at your options carefully
Subset: Latin-1

5. Look for the letter/symbol combination. In most cases, they are available in both lowercase and uppercase

6. Click on the letter/symbol combination

7. Click Insert (bottom right)

8. Click Close (bottom right)

Your accented letter will be there!

This should work in any word processor. For each of the following, make sure your keyboard is in Num Lock mode. Hold down the ALT key and enter, on the numeric keypad:

for ñ 164
for Ñ 165
for á 160
for í 161
for ó 162
for ú 163

on the toolbar, go with INSERT, then go with particular character; you are able to could desire to seek in the process the characters for it (on the grounds that word has a great form of), however the "a" (the two small and great letter), with a tilde already over it, is there.

You have to go the Insert --> Character (or is that Symbol?) route and find the special character you want...
