the element has excellent access to the rear seat as both side doors open. Getting a car seat in and out should not be any problem at all.

You should make sure that the car seat you have fits properly in the seat. All car seats are not equal and many car seats don't fit properly in different style seats. I would recommend you take the car seat to a Honda dealer and see how it fits. If you don't want to deal with a sales person, go to service and tell them that your sister is coming into town with her Element and you want to see how to put your car seat into it before she gets into town because she doesn't have any kids and she doesn't know if your seat will work. If service can't help you, go up to sales and tell them the same thing. I'm sure some good Samaritan will help you try to put the seat in a stock unit.
