He's really a magic Genie? Maybe that was his way of seeing what you really wanted out of your job. His way of accessing why you were leaving....

Perhaps he doesn't want you to quit, and is trying to figure out why you are leaving. This may be out of simple curiosity, or he may want to renegotiate your position with you to get you to stay at the company. I would be honest with him, and tell him what your wishes are. {But make sure they are pertaining to your career, not just life in general}

He probably wants to bone you and has more money than he knows what to do with. I hope you told him that you wished people would stop asking you stupid questions.
