There is no doubt that being a woman presidential candidate who actually has a chance of winning is a novelty and that in and of itself attracts attention. Hillary, however, also has the attributes to make a great president.

Well if she were Male she would not have married Bill Clinton, which means she'd likely just be another politician in the crowd.

Do I think being Woman helps here a bit? Absolutely, with some people. At the same time, I can guarentee you that her being a woman may also hurt her in the eyes of others.

I completely agree with Grandma; the characteristics that make Hilary presidential material are what we as a society like to decry as "bitchy". If she were a man, those traits would be exemplified as "strong", even "heroic".
Now I'm not saying that I will vote for her, or that I even like her; my idea of the perfect presidential candidate is Dennis Kucinich. (Yes, I know, unlikely.) I consider Hilary just another typical major-party politician, but her gender doesn't have anything to do with her being her party's frontrunner.

I'm not a big fan of Hillary, she is a Socialist... But...Why are you a misogynist? Why do you hate women to the point of calling them male? Are you that insecure? Was Your mother a man? Or were you born through mitoses? Having problems with Your medulla oblongata this morning? Never fear!

That's insulting and you probably open your mouth to say that to any woman that is strong willed. Come into the 21st Century caveman. If you called other men's wives, girlfriends, daughters or sisters that in their presence, I wonder how long it would be before you were on your knees to please? Real Men respect women.

So many have expressed concern for her being a female that I have no doubt that she would do much better as a man.
No one expects a man not to have ambition, in a man that's a good thing. Saying Hillary wants to be president is supposed to be an indication that the woman is getting above herself, that somehow she is immodest for thinking she could make leadership decisions. No one would think twice about it if she were male.
The fact that shes not warm and cuddly wouldn't be an issue. The press would say she had the all-important gravitas.
No one would wonder if other world leaders would accept her as a leader. Many world leaders have serious doubts about Bush's leadership, but no one ever blamed that on his sex.
Its the old story, if a woman wants it done right, shes a btch, if a man wants it done right hes strong.

No, but I have wondered if the decider cause for late night walks in the white house garden cross dressing as a cheerleader...and also about those accusations of his relationship with that bald headed gay prostitute.

Like it or not Hillary being a woman is probably the main reason she is doing so well in the polls. In that she is the wife of a former President that those in her party really liked.

No, I've never wondered. I know for a fact that she would not be. Everytime someone has been asked (from what I've heard from their own lips) why they support Hillary, it's always the fact that she is a WOMAN that is brought up first. It's like being a woman is the only qualification these people are looking for in a president.

Look, GENDER does not equal qualification. Run a well-qualified woman who matches my beliefs, I'll vote for her. But Hillary is not qualified and she comes nowhere close to my beliefs... I think. Maybe the next time she flip-flops she'll get a bit closer.

Have you ever wondered if George Bush is "female", would he still be as popular as he is now?
