If your answer made someone think you were mad wait until they read mine. I have a brand new digital camera with all the bells and whistles. I also have an antique Brownie camera that I use constantly. It is much more of a challenge to use the older camera and work harder at my shots. The new one is fine for amusement parks, but I still prefer the old one 100 times over.
p.s.
I got the new one as a gift from my husband. Not guilty of buying it. I also got a karaoke machine - why???????

(-: I LOVE the instant gratification. I just love, love, love it. If a shot turns out terrible, I know it immediately, and can take a new picture and erase the old one.
OTOH, digitals are terrible at action shots (we have two new kittens, so I know what I'm talking about here!). There's that silly delay, and the camera is supposed to be "smart" and take all the light settings, etc., but it really isn't very smart after all.
Also, in the future, I worry about the maintenance. You'll have to keep copying the pics to new formats in order to access them, and I have doubts about how long computer-printed prints will actually last.
I'd hang on to both, if I were you. (-: It's a great reason to get married -- one spouse can run the digital, the other one the old fashioned kind. And get an in-law to do the video, I guess (-:.

I have what many people wouldcall an 'old' camera. Its an Olympus trip but it gives lovely pictures. I usually have the pictures developed to 7" x 5" and to be a shiney surface. This kind of helps the creative side of my personality. Have not tried a digital camera as yet as not being the instant gratification type, it is felt that to learn by ones mistakes, it takes time to acheive that which one is seeking through photography.

I love digital as long as you have a good camera! If you have a cheepy camera then its worth getting the regular camera. Also i take a ton of pictures so when i was on vaca for a week i took about 150 pics now imagine if that was all film. Plus Film is more expensive to develope which stinks. So i guess my vote would be for Digital alothough a regular camera works awsome to!

I have a Canon, fairly old and use it on occasion as it takes great pictures and have various lens's for it,i.e. macro zoom I think it is called-but I love the convenience of the digital with the printer dock and not have to take to be developed though it costs twice as much to do it ourselves. At times I can use instant gratification! ha.

I really like my digital camera because I can see the shots immediately, that way I know if I need to take another shot of something I'm trying to take a picture of. I do really like the disposable cameras though...I've had good experience with them in terms of picture quality.

For memories, I like the old film camera. I have loads of reels of films to be developed though. I must admit that I have used my digital camera a lot more than the 35mm one in recent years.

I have a 35mm film and a digital. I like the digital because it's small and easy to take with me anywhere. But when I know I want a good scenic picture, I take my 35mm.
