I read this news on my yahoo page, what do you think of the law trying to be passed and do you think it should be used in every city? It is not a racist issue because thousands of young people white, chicano, asian and black have adopted this style considered hip hop culture or gangster style ect.
Read it and let me know your views on it.
And don't hate!

I personally do not like seeing peoples butts and underwear walking down the street. Especially butt floss.

I was happy to see everyone that made a comment put their true thought into it (except one) I see the political issue where it would be a waste of time but to make it a dress code specifically for public areas such as Libraries, Museums, definately the court houses and govt offices, as well as schools, I am all for it. What you do at your home or in your neighborhood is fine but when it comes to blatantly showing everything God gave you, you need to leave that at the club. I was even pleasantly surprised that the african americans made the comments for the law or dress code enforcement. I have had a lot of people that it is a "Black" thing and to quit being racist and hating, but it isn't and I have yet to meet another girl or woman that thinks that type of dress really attracts them to the person or makes them look to that person as a potential bf or mate.

Although I can't stand to see our youth walking around with their pants around there ankles, holding them up, I don't think a law should be passed to stop it. I think they need to find something better to do. This is when the parents need to step up and get involved, stop purchasing these too big clothes for their children and make them leave the house looking appropriate. For God's sake make them ware a belt, cover your young girls up and stop allowing them to shop for themselves. Parents are turning a blind eye.

You do realsie that a store is PRIVATE property -- therefore you are not wearing baggy pants in public. Its the same deal with not wearing a shirt -- it is not illegal to go around without a shirt ( for guys) -- but if you try that in a nightclub or in some shops you will get kicked out

My son is a skateboarder, and he wears his pants awfully low. I, like many, don't like seeing his boxer clad behind, but to actually legislate personal style? Jeez...that's really going to work. Atlanta certainly has more pressing political issues, yet they are going to waste the legislature's time on aesthetics. I have yet to be struck blind by seeing a kid's underwear clad butt, not have I suffered any trauma as a result of this. They might as well hand out tickets for "camel toe" offenders.

I think we have a lot more going on in this world to be worried about someones underwear showing. NO I don't like seeing it but that is up to the person if he or she wants to dress that way.

make women wear turtlenecks all the time and pants and no skirts and loose fitting clothes and then you can make these kinds of rules, some teachers tell kids they will get them for sexual abuse / harrassment just because they are not wealthy enough to get tailor made clothes that fit them to a T, that is just wrong and then the teachers that threaten this wear clothes with their breast hanging out or skirts so short that if they bend over their as*ses show or if they cross their legs you can see the front of their you know what, this is just a form of discrimination of what is so called liked and what is not liked!

I think it should be adopted everywhere, and it should include undergarments that fall below the waist. A bra strap being shown would not cause as much disgust as a thong, or boxers.

Fashion, style (or the lack thereof), and modesty should not be legislated in any way. While I appreciate that you don't like the view, individual likes and dislikes should not be the basis for law; laws should protect society and help it function.

It's just the authoritarian government acting up again. Nothing unusual there.

it will be a quagmire to deal with and exhaust an already exhausted legal system. it is a useless attempt to enforce morality and decency that is not going to be effective.
