You can have several email address for that purpose. Think of it as having several keys that unlock different things. It would be very simple to have one key that unlocks everything, but if that key gets copied you have to switch the locks on everything.

You can do the same thing with passwords and pins. I have five sets of passwords and 10 passwords for this reason.

I keep one email account that I use just for friends and family uses and I have another one that I very rarely use other than to go in and delete all the junk out once a week because it's the email address I use whenever I have to give it out on the internet. credit card and bank card emails should come into your friends and family account because that's not junk mail. In this day and age you need a username and password for just about everything so I keep them all logged on a piece of paper that I keep in a safe place in my home because there's not a chance that I can remember all of them especially ones that are only used once a year such as to check your credit scores/history.

One easy way to remember passwords is to use something (perhaps your name, birthday, pet etc.) and the name of the site - possibly in capitals, or alternate capital and lower case; something it will not be easy to hack but easy for you to remember. Use the same format (but obviously different XXXXX )for all your passwords. eg "yournameXXXXXXX" So your password for Yahoo would be "yournameYaHoO, or for UTube "yournameUTUBE"

Its really a matter of whether you want to or not. I personally like have different email addresses.

If you use Gmail, you can set it up so that you can send email from other accounts, as well as recieve them through POP3.
