No it is not a sin. And I am a religious person. I don't believe in sex outside of marriage, etc. It's not like you are using a tampon for a sexual purpose. It is for hygienic reasons. And remember what they say cleanliness is next to Godliness! Being morally and physically clean were laws that God put forth for people in Bible times as a protection. It is very important to Him that we care for our bodies. Tampons are just part of it.

Hey :) I totally understand, I went through this problem too. First of all, you need to figure out the most comfortable way to sit because the key to putting it in is to relax! I know it's hard at first, but you need to let your muscles loosen up. Take deep breaths and don't let yourself worry. Otherwise it won't work. Now for positioning, there's a few ways and I think two are the best : squatting or sitting on the toilet. I think for starting out, you should use the toilet since it's sturdy. When you're putting it in, make sure that you angle it towards your lower back. It's different for everybody, so see what's comfortable. But that's the general angle. And what most people forget, but is one of the most important things, is to put it in far enough! Otherwise it sticks out and it hurts terribly. Basically you should be able to grip the bottom of the tampon applicator just enough with two fingers when you put it in. Also, try using a lighter tampon to start with. It'll be smaller and you'll need to change it more, but it helps when you're trying to get used to it. If you do this, I'd suggest using a pad as well for that extra coverage until you're alright using a regular sized tampon. And if it hurts after you've put it in, take it out and try again. Otherwise you could do damage if it's incorrectly placed (not to mention the pain). Practice makes perfect. I hope this helps! Basically the key is to angle to your lower back and make sure it's in far enough :)

No it is not a sin to use a tampon. Your mom doesn't know what she is talking about. Sweetheart, you shouldn't look at this like it's some kind of rule to follow. Tampons are meant for woman to use for their periods. It's ok keep using them.

No theres not many rules to follow, it's just using your morals and common sense.
It's not a sin to use a tampon and where your mother gets this idea she must be reading a strange bible. There is no reference in the (King James v.) or any other verison that I know of that restricts that.

I'm a born again Christian and I have to say I've never heard anyone say that using a tampon would be wrong for the reason your Mum says, nor for any other reason either. There's nothing sinful about tampons!!!

I believe that God gave man brains to use and invent things to make our lives easier. Tampons are one of them. How can that be a sin, to want to stay clean and fresh? Does the Bible specifically speak against tampons? Get her to show you. In the meantime, use them. I am 60 years old and have a great belief in God. I don't try to put my interpretation on the Bible. I just believe that if God didn't want us to know, he wouldn't have given us brains to discover.

No. It is not a sin. You are not harming your body. Plus, it's not like they are sexually pleasing. You are just keeping yourself clean. And that certainly isn't against ANY religion. (She is probably against it because some people believe that they take away your vigintiy and cause you to want to have sex--which couldn't be futher from the truth)
Think of it this way: If God didn't want you to use them, they wouldn't exsist.

Tampons aren't sexual and anyone who is against tampons for religious reasons are crazy. I'm sure god has more important things to worry about then whether or not we shove a piece of cotton up our vagina's.

A sin is what some one else does not like. Men made up most of the sins so women came out on the short end. It isn´t and there is probably a lot of other stuff that you have been told is wrong.
