Exactly!! The Dems need defeat for America in order for them to gain power, that's why they are trying to come up for reasons why we are losing.
It's sad that the Dem party needs soldiers to be killed, needs to keep people in poverty, needs to keep people uneducated in order to consider themselves a success. Frightening.

There are no 'winners' in war.
This 'war' is being waged for three of the most dullardly reasons imagineable:
1. The Bush family had a personal vendetta against Saddam Hussein ever since George H.W. Bush was ridiculed, criticized and humiliated for 'not finishing the job' and ousting Hussein during Desert Storm;
2. Cheney and his Exxon-Mobil buddies covet all that OIL swimming underneath Iraq's sands so they can get richer and richer and richer feeding America's addiction to cheap, easily-accessible foreign OIL;
3. Ever since World War II, the giant U.S. military-industrial complex (which Eisenhower warned us about) recognized how profitable 'war' could be. So, all the politicians were bought up, pricey lobbyists were hired and special interest groups were formed to promote and encourage more 'war'. Thus, the U.S. got entangled in the Korean Conflict; the Cuban Missile Crisis; the Cold War; Vietnam and Desert Storm so that corporations could boost their sagging peace time profits. Companies like McDonnell-Douglass, Sikorsky and Lockheed-Martin depend on 'war' to make billions off America's gullible taxpayers. When the Bush administration occupied the Oval Office, two newcomers bellied up to the government's war trough: the Carlyle Group and Halliburton BOTH had direct ties to the Bush-Cheney White House and needed to get their share of the billions being made from this multi-TRILLION-dollar 'war' boondoggle.
We are not winning a 'war'. We are 'there' only for the sake of OIL and WAR PROFITEERING. Bush-Cheney has lied to the American people, misrepresented its mission to the U.S. Congress, and conned our dedicated troops into believing they're sacrificing their lives for honorable purposes (such as bringing democracy to Iraq; defending America against 'terrorists' from unknown 'evil empires', and establishing peace in the Middle East). In fact, we're 'there' so that a handful of wealthy elitists, industrialists and power brokers can become wealthier and more powerful. We will remain 'there' for decade, if not generations - until we've sucked every drop of OIL from Iraq's sands.
If that's not the case, WHY are we building the largest U.S. embassy in the world on a 104-acre site in downtown Baghdad overlooking the modest headquarters of the 'new' Iraqi puppet government installed by the Bush administration??
If we don't expect to be 'there' for a long, long time, WHY is Halliburton building fourteen (yes -14!1) new permanent U.S. military bases in Iraq???
What we have 'lost' is NOT an insane, unconstitutional, immoral, unjustifiable 'war': what we have 'lost' is our national self-respect and the adoration of much of the entire world for our selfish, arrogant, bullying, greedy, hubris-drenched misdeeds. -RKO- 08/23/07

Democrats have staked so much on the Iraq War that little else is ever heard of. It's unfortunate, but it's there. I'd like to hear more about stances on abortion, stem cell research, immigration reform (some grey areas here please), a governmental budget house cleaning, etc.
Personally, I used to call for withdrawl, now I call for staying in. And I've made a new catchphrase concerning what people see on the news, making them think they know everything.
'If the American military gets intel that will allow them to destroy Al Qaeda once and for all, we'll only know once it's done, and even then we might not know till ten years down the road. Bottom line is: good news is classified, bad news shows at 7 and again at 11.'

The Democratic mantra is "The Republicans have got it all wrong, so vote for us and we'll fix everything." They figure their one best hope for victory in 2008 is to point toward the supposed failure of the war in Iraq, and their sycophantic lap-dogs in the mainstream media have been supporting that agenda with their endless anti-war anti-Bush tirade. They know they really can't point to the economy as a failure because the economy right now is in better shape than it was when Slick Willie left office, and the 2006 votes against affirmative action and homosexual marriage in over 20 states was a major setback for liberals, so they're grasping at whatever particular straw they can to make Republicans look bad so they can take over. Never mind the fact that the Congressional approval rate is the lowest it has ever been (14%), as long as they can blame SOMETHING tangible on the Republicans they believe they can win.

I am a Democrat. I do not want us to lose this war. And if we do win it will not be the death watch for me. There are plenty of other reasons to get rid of you guys. What I want to know, who says we are winning? I don't see we have done anything we have set out to do except get rid of Sadaam. How many years do you think it might take for them to make it on their own? Again, who says we are winning? How do you Gage winning or losing? Let me see some proof. The surge is working? What exactly does that mean? Fewer deaths, that is great. Has it lessened our time to be there? Doesn't look like it, no one has said so. And as far as the radicals answering this questions just to bash Democrats, you can kiss my @ss.

The Dems are falling back to the days of George McGovern and hate war of any kind. They believe that if they can get the President to pull out of Iraq, they will be able to talk to the terrorists of the world and get them to stop terrorizing the rest of the world. But they don't understand the terrorists will come to the meeting and be willing to kill the people that want to talk. The Dems don't care if terrorism comes to America as long as they get the political power that they desire.
They consider themselves to be patriotic by opposing everything that the President does, and have been trying to find a reason to implicate the man in anything illegal and have been failing miserably, I mean they blamed him for a weather phenom that was an act of GOD, anything that goes wrong is his fault-they need a reality check.
They don't seem to care about the security of this country, otherwise why would they want the growing problem of illegal aliens to continue. The citizens of this country demand the borders be closed and the politicians on both sides of the aisle are bulking, but it is the Dems who want to give people who aren't citizens a right to vote.
The Dems are also socialist in nature, by this I mean they want to have the government to control the institutions of this country, they have control of the schools and look at how poorly our students stand next to the rest of the world. They want to take over the medical care of this nation, I admit that it seems out of control on the financial cost, but we have the best health care in the world, otherwise why would people from all over the world come here for treatment. About the only segment of this society that leaves this country for medical care is the transexuals as they head for Thailand for their operations, because it is claimed to be the best in the world and for a reasonable cost.
I could go on and on and be considered a "Limbaugh suck up", but I call it 40 years of observation as the Dems bring this nation to its knees and I don't mean that in the good sense of the phrase.

Winning? Well. . . .lets be fair:
>Hundreds of thousands of Iraqis dead
>Almost 4000 American troops dead
>2 million plus Iraqi refugees
>mostly no water, electricity, etc.
>an entire genereation lost because chools have been closed for years
>the violence continues without letup
>3/r4 of the Iraqis want the US out
>the Iraqi government can't govern andis near collapse
>the Iraqi military we've been "training" can't e trusted not to shoot us in the back
>al-Qaida has safe haven in Pakistan, with traing schools, bases, and an agreement with our "ally" allowing them in.
>our own intelligence agencies say the Iraq war is creating more terrorists.
Okay--you call this winning? Presumably you're a member of al-Qaida.

FED UP has it right… “Because of their vitriolic hatred for Bush”
The dems have invested in failure all along. Instead of helping the country, they have done everything possible just to “get Bush”.
They have been like dogs nipping at the heels of mail man just doing his job.
Pretty sad to disgrace your country just to return to power.
