rather than make a knee jerk response, i made myself really think about your question.

i believe in the right of assembly. i believe in freedom of speech, even if i disagree with it.

this tests my core beliefs to the max.

upon reflection i decides to searched for info about those who are leading this event rather than those just participating. i was not surprise with what i found for i found most of these leaders, while preaching peace and tolerance give their support to those who do not.

i have sought out those Muslims who will speak out against the terrorist and their killings. they are few and far between. while most will readily condemn some of the acts, they preface this condemnation with justifications of those acts.

from their own words:
Q: Why are there Muslim terrorists?
A: There aren't! The media twists the facts to present Muslims as terrorists.

i must conclude that even if the motives of most are well meaning, the timing and their failure to protest the terrorist agenda in mass, leads me to believe that it is, at lhe least, in poor taste and at the most, it is tacit support for the terrorist and it well insult the majority of Americans who are still in a period of mourning for those killed in the 9/11 attack and their friends and families.

Do I think it is appropriate NO, i personally abhore it but they do have the right to do this.

I think this parade is even MORE inappropriate than the Gay Pride Parades I often speak out against...(there should be no SEX parades...ever).

For New York to let this happen is CRAZY! It's like having the Japanese have a parade at Pearl Harbor...or the Germans having a formal ball at Auschwitz, it just would not be "right".

Last year it was on the 10th. I guess the hatred hadn't ramped up enough, because I hadn't even heard about it. This is the 22nd annual parade, so it is probably safe to assume that it's always been held around the same time. Unlike other parades in NYC, I've never even heard of this one, and that includes not hearing about arrests and property damage that are common parts of other parades here. So no, I have no problem with it.

They have the right, but this does them no good whatsoever. This is only going to bring anger from non-muslims. Picking a day so close was not very intelligent at all.

In answer....no it is not appropriate. With it being so close to the 11th, it comes off much more like a klan rally than a religious groups parade (in the emotion it will evoke).

Not when these are the people running it (funny how they always seem to have the wrong connections...)

The Grand Marshal for the 2006 parade was Siraj Wahhaj, a Brooklyn imam who is known for his fiery speeches, including those that have been considered threatening to the United States. In February of 1995, Wahhaj was named – along with such people as Osama bin Laden and bin Laden’s mentor, Abdullah Azzam – as a potential co-conspirator to the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center.

Another Grand Marshal of a past parade was Muzzamil Siddiqi, the former President of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), a mosque umbrella organization that was recently named a co-conspirator to the financing of millions of dollars to Hamas.

Ashrafuzzaman Khan, the ex-Secretary General of the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA), which is one of the sponsors of the parade and a top donor to a Pakistani charity that has been providing tens of thousands of dollars to the head of Hamas, Khaled Mashaal.

aside fromt the fact that its no longer a criminal offense for muslims to have their own day. You seem getting your suggestions from an internet site which needless to say shows bias even interior the call. do no longer you think of that its somewhat ridiculous which you think of that the Muslims who chosen to try this parade are all radicals? merely by way of movements of a few meglomaniacs, empowered by skill of the CIA interior the 1st place? there is the IRA yet that doesnt recommend each irish guy and woman is speading hate messages and giving out weapons on St. Patricks Day. Im confident the Muslims of manhattan theory that it grew to become into inconvinient too for the date to be so close to to 9/11, yet needless to say the city of manhattan positioned the parade on that date by way of tight schedual further on by skill of beuraucracy. And why do you think of that the individuals protecting the parade interior the 1st place are all the radicals and terrorists you stereotype them to be ?. i could locate it somewhat tricky to have faith that Al Qaeda are going from bombings and kidnappings to protecting their own parade, god forbid they have posters and floats.

No of course not, never in New York. This tolerance garbage is too much. The muslims need to be a little more tolerant.

Oh I forgot, their idea of tolerant is to kill all others.

People, wake up, this is not a religion it is a political organization and there goal is world control, with us dead.

Wake up people, the organizers of this are rubbing our face in 9/11, this is meant to inflame and incite. We are at war with these people, they know, but far too many Americans are unwilling to see it for what it is.
