That's a good question... it stands to reason that there are some beneath the ice. Antarctica was warmer millions of years ago, before the continent drifted to the South Pole. If there is limestone, there are surely some caves. Also, there are some volcanoes, so there may be lava caves.

But for now, you may only be able to find ice caves & crevasses near the surface.

A large part of Antarctica is buried under ice. Millions of years ago Antarctica was near the equator and thus rivers and lakes which form caves may have existed on it. It is thus probable that there are caves deep below the ice caps.

I can't say for sure. There probably are some, but not many, and they'd be hard to find. There may be places where there are exceptions, but not many.

The ice covers the continent in most places, so you can't get to the rock to find a cave. And the ice is thousands of feet thick in most places, so the caves probably got crushed by the weight. Here in Michigan, we had glaciers about 12,000 years ago. I only know of 2 areas with caves, and one other place where they suspect some might be found. All of them are short - maybe a few hundred feet deep at most.

It's mostly ice. There is land exposed at the margins and in the Transantarctic Mountains.

Most caves occur in limestones and there is limestone in the mountain ranges in Antarctica. But I've never heard of any. So much of it is unexplored.

I've seen pictures of ice caves along the coastal areas.
