What you to do is to ask at your local garden centre what weedkiller is best for the type of weeds you have. A glyphosate based product like Round up or Tumble weed will work on most weeds but remember the weeds have to be left to die. Don't be tempted to dig them up when the top growth has withered the poison has to get to the roots. If you have cut them down wait until they have started to regrow before you apply it. Glyphosate needs to have 4 hours drying time on the plant for it to be successful. For very tough weeds and if you don't intend to replant the area, or around your patio then try Sodium Chlorate. The best way to apply this is to wet the foliage and just sprinkle a small amount onto the leaves of the plants. Once the area is clear then put down some heavy duty membrane like Rokolene and top off with a very thin layer of chippings. A bark mulch will not keep weeds out they will grow in it.

DDT was banned years ago and in any case it wasn't a weed killer but a bug killer! Weeds are just wild flowers, think of them like that. If you don't like them just dig them up. Some are very pretty and encourage loads of wildlife. Who wants a perfect garden anyway/

Are you sure you want to put such poison in your enviroment? Have you tried a heavy mulch? Is your garden annuals. if so you could try covering your area with a heavy plastic in the fall, to smother the weeds. Or you could scrape off the top sopil, with the weed and replace with clean dirt. Or you could go to your local garden center and just get some massive weed killer and bomb the heck out of it.

DDT won't do you any good. Before it was banned, it was used to kill flying insects. Get some Symazine from a horticultural supplier. (It's sold as Pathclear, but it's cheaper by the sack). That will wipe out every plant for 6 months.

DDt is no longer available anywhere. To get the weeds out , dig them out by the roots, or sprinkle them with cooking salt.about half a tespoon per weed.

You might want to rethink the wole DDT thing. Round Up works very well, and it's not so dangerous. It will kill anything that it is sprayed on. You can find it in most hardware stores or Home Depot

DDT was an insecticide and would not kill weeds. It was banned worldwide years ago.
What you need is Sodium Chlorate or one of the several total weed killers found in many gardening suppliers.

DDT is a pesticide, not an herbicide. It's not what you want. If you want to kill all the plants--not just the weeds, but everything, then you want to get Roundup. It's available at any hardware store or at a place like Kmart or Target. If want something that won't kill your grass but will kill the weeds, get Ortho. Sounds like you want Roundup, though.

DDt is banned in the US and most other developed countries. It is not a weed killer anyway. Get some "Roundup" and spray away.
