I will be taking the police exam and I tried to get an approved day off but since it will be the weekend before a holiday I was denied. I really want to be a police officer and would hate to miss the opportunity to advance my career. I need a really good excuse. I recently had a knee injury and was out of work for a week. I do not want to call out sick. Is there any other creative excuse I can use?

I would just be honest with them and tell them why you need off. Tell them you can make it up however they want, but it is really important to you. Hopefully, they will understand and help you out. I don't know if it's an all day exam, but maybe you could even offer to come in before or after (if that is possible). Good luck

So let's see. You want to be Cop, and your first step is asking others to think up a lie for you. Not a good start dude.
For the rest of our sake, stay at the job you are at. A Cop, who is an admitted liar, is not a good thing.
Honesty means a lot to a great deal of us.

It isn't going to be easy to come up with something they will believe since you already tried to get the day off and were denied... they will probably ask for proof of whatever you tell them as well...

The death of a family member. You can stop at any funeral home and pick up a program.
I'd say it's best to be honest though, the truth always comes out. You could get fired for lying.

well I always kill a member of the family, (like grandma, or my nanny), it has always worked for me, now you have to pray for nothing to happen to them after you use their deads for an excuse, GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR EXAM. and remeber the wake and funeral are always in another state, you got it?
