I asked this before and just wanted to have a little more input on your pain.....mine is still the walk-off homerun by Mazeroski in 1960 against my Yankees and "The Ice Bowl" or "The Catch" as a Cowboy fan...what was yours?...I am still crying 40+ years later!!

1986. 2003. 1978.

Worst single games? In 1994 I flew to Rhode Island for my brother's college graduation, and so got to watch the Red Sox game on TV that night. I tuned in around the seventh -- and found out the Twins were pummelling the Sox, 21-1. Final, 21-2 -- ouch. Definitely a "some days the bear eats you" game: http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/1994/B05200MIN1994.htm

But that's just losing ugly. Losing sloppily is worse. Here's Boston leading 10-0 after six, falling behind 11-10 in the ninth behind an Ernie Whitt grand slam off Lee Smith, and ultimately blowing it in 12, final 13-11: http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/1989/B06040BOS1989.htm

And, for mirthless laffs, we review Roger Clemens, 1987, at the peak of his early Cy Young-winning skills, getting utterly torched by the Hated Yankees. In the third. With a 9-0 lead. This one, final Yankees 12 - Sox 11 (in ten), is just a mess. http://www.retrosheet.org/boxesetc/1987/B06260NYA1987.htm

I've seen or listened to plenty of great wins and confounding losses, and sometimes the losses stick harder in memory. Oy. That's baseball.

Man talk about adding salt into my wounds...
Game 7 NLCS last year, Mets vs Cards. After that Endy Chavez catch everybody thought the Mets would score at least 2 runs in the bottom of that inning and take the game. then watching Beltran look at strike 3 took the cake.
Game 6, 1999 NLCS after Mets take a 9-8 lead it was hard to take watching John Franco, Armando Benetiz & Kenny Rogers, who went 0-3, blow all those Mets leads & finally losing 10-9 in 11 innings. it would have been nice to see a game 7 & Mets would have been 1st team to come back from 0-3 deficit. Boston would do that in 2003.

Mine was the Yankees loss to the Dimaondbacks in Game 7 of the 2001 World Series. It was a very emotional series for the team and the city.

Well, more painful to watch than any singular loss was the amazing streak of 19 straight losses the Royals managed to pull of in 2005. That was just icing on the cake of a horrible season.

I'm a San Francisco Giants fan...I could point to a few World Series, but the one loss that sticks out and probably cost us our best shot at a World Series was the last game of the season in 1993. 103 wins on the season and no playoffs ...ugh that one hurt...the 104th win would've put us in a one game playoff with Atlanta...the manager went with rookie Solomon Torres to start against the rival Dodgers instead of starting one of our veterans.

I'm a Bills fan, enough said. The first SB loss when Norwood missed the easy field goal was probably the hardest. But then getting blown out each of the next three SuperBowls was pretty agonizing too.

Mine has to be pretty much any of the past Playoff losses of The Dallas Mavericks...That's my team..They've played terribly in the playoffs these past 2 or 3 years...

Oh you meant Baseball...Mine has to be when I was at a Rangers game, pitched by Nolan Ryan. He took what would have been his 8th no-hitter into the 8th inning, and he lost it to Dave Winfield...It really sucked when he lost it..

I was at that game too, Ahsan...Great game!! GO 'STROS!!!
