Thank you for answering my question, but some of the answer where a little predictable, such as "Because the democrats promise them handouts and welfare, and their votes are being bought."
And
"Take a look at each party today. The Republican politicians are significantly whiter (and more male) than the Democratic politicians. That has more power than does history."
I'd like to ask why don't we get past these issues(monthly checks) and stereotypes(significantly whiter) and really think about it and ask Why do most Black people vote for Democrats? I mean is it because they help you more or what or do you feel more grateful to them? I'd really like too know.
Thank you.

Because black people feel a sense of loyalty to the Democratic party. It was liberals who fought with us to win civil rights and it is the Democrats who promise 'hand-outs' (yes, hand-outs) to underprivileged minorities.

I don't care if most blacks vote for Democrats. I just get upset when people chide me for being a black Conservative.

Today's Democratic Party does nothing but pander and appease and I don't see them doing anything to help BETTER our community other than offering hand-outs in exchange for the black vote.

And that is why I am not a Democrat today.

And I am EXTREMELY thankful for that.

There is tons of history here. The Republican party was founded as an anti-slavery party. After emancipation when black men were granted the right to vote almost all were Republicans. After many years things became complacent and the party bosses began to forget their roots. For many yeas both major parties were so elitist and their machines so strong that neither cared about the masses. In the 1932 election the Democrats led by FDR courted all the groups who were traditionally loyal to the Republican party (blacks, Jews, etc). People were ready for a change due to the economy so they left the Republican party in droves. This was followed by the Civil Rights Movement, which sealed the deal for many party members.

Most people of my race are good people. I say most because it is not always that way. But most African or African American care about people. We care about all people and we care about the nature. We care about environment. We care about the future. We want that everyone live free and happy lives. I have white friends and one thing I've noticed, they are all for the Democrat party. Why is that? I ask you what you think that means. No white man who is Republican wants to be my good friend. So why should I think anything good about Republican Party. I'm an immigrant who has come from Rwanda, so I only know from my little experience here in this country. When you say that African Americans want to live with welfare and handouts, that is not true. It is another generalization. We like to share, so maybe it is good in neighborhoods where everyone is together in a welfare. If my brothers could get jobs and Harvard educations, they won't need any welfare. Maybe if Republican party stopped looking down on us for voting Democrat and started paying attention to our problems, we may be more likely to vote for your party. But you are too busy getting paid off and helping big business to pay attention to anyone. That is why you can't get our votes.

Republicans are more likely to be racist and more likely to go against programs that blacks might need due to their disposition in society because of racism.
It's not as simple of an issue as "they're taking hand outs." The hand outs were created for a reason, and they're using them for a reason. People who don't live in and have never witnessed poverty are incredibly unsympathetic, it seems to me. Go meet a family living in a small, ratty apartment where each parent has two jobs and the children have to sleep in the bathtub and stay near the ground all day because they're afraid of getting shot, and they just can't make ends meet, and then tell me you don't think there should be welfare. The problem is society, not the people doing their best to live in it.
Back to the question >< Democrats are more in tune with social and minority issues, which is what effects minorities the most. It's no wonder they usually side with them.

I believe it's because the Democratic Party has traditionally been more attuned to social issues that affect black people more. The Republic Party is more of a rich man's club.
Democrats will generally support "people" issue such as welfare for the poor, disabled, underprivileged, homeless, disadvantaged, sick, elderly, and hungry.
Republicans, on the other hand, generally support issues such as tax breaks for millionaires, corporate welfare programs such as bail-outs and tax abatements for the rich and profitable companies that contribute to their political campaigns.
Unfortunately, the Democrats are beginning to become just as dependent on corporate support as Republicans, leaving America's low-incomed voters without any political party championing their needs. -RKO- 08/23/07

I always wondered that but, pretty much knew the answer, the Dems, bought the foot by fooling the Black community that the Republicans keep them down, But, if you really look at it , Dems ramming down Gov Programs and getting poor Black and white families addicted to those programs keeps them in the pockets of the Dems,

Also Abraham Lincoln was a Republican,

Because...Republicans now are the new Southern Democrats. If you look back in history, the Southern Democrats were the racist party. After the civil rights act of 1964 (which many Southern Democrats REFUSED to sign) migrated to the Republican party. The Republican party created the NAACP and affirmative action. Whereas, the Southern Democrats formed the Jim Crow laws and the KKK. The Democrats "felt bad" for the way minorities were being treated so they created welfare and began giving out government handouts. The "new" Democrats showed an interest in helping minorities. So there you have it. If you really look at it, welfare and government handouts enable minorities.

The real question is why does the Republican party not appeal to black voters. If you look at the core tenants of the Republican party, black voters will agree with them. It is the Republican party members. If you listen to talk radio. They make is seem like blacks are the major problem in America. Why do racists ring-wing people feel at home in the republican party. Republicans race bait every single election. They use "choice" words to basically say that if you don't vote for me blacks will get everything. That is the real question.

They get a free handouts, it's as simple as that.

Plus, they work in favor of things unnatural to God given rights, such as - Sodomy, Free Abortions, they get to fight for things that are trying to remove Christianity from the public square.

Things of that nature.
