Do you think this question violates the guidelines?: "If you look under your bed, what will you see?" I was interested in knowing what ppl store under their beds. I received a V notice for it.

I actually emailed Y!A about the V notice, and I only received an automated answer.

No real answer from Y!A, and I emailed them back in July...it's just weird that my question got deleted, & I don't know how it goes against the guidelines.

THANKS for all the answers. I'm not going to bother to appeal, so Y!A can keep the 10 pts they took & put them you know where.

I asked about a VN last week and got a stock answer from them asking to go to their TOS. In looking it over, I didn't find ANYTHING that indicated I'd violated any terms. I don't think your question violated anything, someone was apparently trolling and flagged you.
I asked a question similar to this one a couple of days ago and it was suggested by one of the answerer's that I appeal it. I haven't bothered to do so, but if you appeal it formally they are required to respond within 48 hours. Good luck!

Although your question was heart felt and trying to do good, it really is a solicitation violation. It is going to fall under a combination of rules. Posting a picture and asking users their personal response is always a violation, just like "Am I Pretty?" questions, but you are more like a prayer request or an appeal for money from a poor mom. You really didn't ask a question that asked for facts or figures, just personal responses. Think about it this way, if yours is allowed, it opens floodgates for prayer requests, "have you seen my dog", and other personal appeals. I can't imagine if this site started allowing greeting card party requests. The site would get flooded. You were trying to do good, this is just not the site for that. Facebook would be a better choice.

I have a picture and a box of winter clothing under my bed.
They never give you a good explanation for why you get a violation notice.

Nah they ll not bother to investigate and reply. Its mostly just automated replies.
Yes I think its valid qn. I asked What do men think of camel toe and it was deleted. Didnt mean for it to be the least bit sexual, im really inquisitive coz I seriously do not know what to think of it.
Its really easy to report someone to get them in trouble since yahoo ppl dont really bother to check and investigate it.

I did the same thing, and I got a canned response. I don't think they investigate violation notices so they probably don't respond to emails either. Blah.

Oh, Adorable One, whoever violated you should be shot at dawn! Your innocence speaks for itself! Some ja***ff was probably out to get his jollies and violated your question. Yahoo! just seems to blow off complaints because they feel they have better things to do with their time than feel concern for peoples rights.

You need to ask for a violation reconsideration and then you will hear back if they rule in your favor and get your points returned which in this instance I would say your chances are very good.

they will answer you so long as they've never deleted you before. just tell them you'd like an explanation as you cannot find anything in the guidelines that defines what rule you broke. and demand they repost and give you your points back. they used to do it for me...now i think they see i'm back and just suspend my account if i try to complain....
