We'll have to fix our education system and it will have to teach social responsibility and racial equality. The education must be available to everybody, regardless of race or income. And you still pay into the system even if you have no children, because childless people do benefit from the next generation as they will be running things when you retire. This will fix a lot of issues.

10 years is really not that long. Look how far we have come from 50 years ago. Sure, there will always be some racists. Why do we keep trying to change it? Because we cant give up. Where ever there is evil in the world we should try to change it. It may seem like it is taking to long to completely rid the world of racism but one day at time.

Racism is like anything in a society that is broken and hard to fix. It is embedded in the psyche of many people but, and I know this is a sad comparison, it is like a car that does not work. Would you just abandon it? Would you like it if people said to "forget about and shut up about it?" No.
Racism is a problem in our society (American). It may not be better than it was 10 years ago but it is better than it was 50 years ago. We have made progress, just not as much as we should have or could have.
We need to keep talking about it and instilling the concept of equality in our children because just as racism can be planted in the young, so can the concept of equality.
As long as the racial divide remains in this country, we should not only not shut up about it but scream it from the high heavens that people are the same not matter what the color or shade of their skin is, their religion is or how much money they have and that we judge a person by their character and not their race or religion.

Yes. you are wrong.. there is less racism than there was ten years ago. Pick up a newspaper. There's a black man running for president and most of the democratic party is excited about it. Does he have a chance? maybe, maybe not. But it's a better chance than he would of had ten years ago. I'm guessing you didn't go to college. That may sound like a ignorant statement. But I bet people who are less educated and hang around other non educated people have the same view as you.
Sincerely,
A White Guy who tries his best to look beyond color.

You must just let problems in your life grow stagnant, because it seems that you would rather pretend they aren't there. Racism is not some boogeyman that hides in the closet to frighten kids while their parents are asleep. Racism is a cancer that has created a huge tumor on society and cultures from across the globe. You should really try to come outside of your plastic bubble somtimes.

No, talking and communicating is better. Things have changed a lot in the past 400, 200, 100, 50, 10 years. The best way to fix it is to look inside yourself.

Silence is often seen as agreement, that is why racism has gotten to be the purple gorilla in the room, everyone knows it's there, but almost no one is gonna draw attention to it..
Racism is like the school bully, who exists as long as no one stands up to it. Racism and bigotry flourish in the fertile fields of ignorance and apathy.
I wasn't quiet about it in the 60's, I don't intend to shut up now.

There are all kinds of racism, you just have to try and have an open mind and not be that way yourself. I think that you can change things one person at a time. I am trying to do that with my kids. My father was a bigot but I know that it is wrong and I am teaching my kids that it is wrong. So maybe they can teach theirs that it is wrong and it will stop with our family.

As long as people are different there will always be some form of racism. It is our jobs to educate, love, accept and try to defeat those attitudes of racist people. That is all we can do! Love each other!

No. Racism doesn't have to be "here to stay"
We just need to become more civilized. It'll take longer than our life times by far. But we have a duty to try.
