I think it would be a tie except for me. I would
have to get my old French book out and brush
up a little. Make that a lot of brushing up.
C'est la vie. PS: you won't have to make any
coin 'cause we have a lot of those old dollar
coins that we have to get rid of .

The Republicans. Canada is a lot less religious than the US, (As a Canadian, I know more about the Church habits of each President of the last 20 years than I do of the Prime Ministers I voted for or against. - It isn't a consideration when I vote. Well? Given the choice of 2 equals I would vote for the one that isn't Christan.) And even more so, Canada is less Right Wing. Even our right wing party policy includes a medicare safety net for the poor. Then there are the Left wing parties....
The injection of 35 million Canadian voters into the electoral college would shift the balance so much that their wouldn't be Republican government for a very long time. Especially right now, when the US is so finely divided, Canada would be deciding your elections.

Just compare the economies, USA with its current problem? no way will Canada gain anything from USA. Canada will lose a lot. USA will only exploit your country. To top it off Canada will be an open target for terrorists. Why risk that?

Canada, in my opinion. It's clean and beautiful up there--a nice place to go in the summertime. They are also much more a peace-loving nation that the US is--I would hate to think of the US poisoning them. Oh, and they have national health care--I think it will be a cold day in hades before that becomes a truth here.

The USA has more to lose. Our Constitution enshrined rights that Canadians never had because they are ultimately beholden to the British Crown and the international banks. They are more like well treated serfs.
However we Americans, while we have (or had, since Bush) more rights, unfortunately do not exercise the key ones, namely the right of citizens to not pay a federal income tax, the right to remove a corrupt federal government, and the right of the federal government to print its own currency. Americans are beholden to the international money lenders, too.
Americans suspended these key rights when the Federal Reserve was created, which is a device for international bankers to take control of the economy and government. Watch the movie on Google Video called The Money Masters.

Canada would lose its national health care. The US won't really have anything to gain besides an educated population.

It ain't gonna happen- everyone would lose. Each Country has a unique culture and identity and both would be watered down into a melange of blah.
