It seems their eyes are closed to the fact that CNN and MSNBC lean to the left and they are not at all 'balanced' news. Yet the only news channel they gripe about is Fox News.

I think they have been trained to think that liberal news IS the real news and anything else is wrong.

Sad.

Think for yourselfs. Do news programs tell you the news or do they tell you how to think about the news ?

All of the news has some bias toward one side or the other. The best way to get "balanced" news coverage is to watch several different channels so you get several different viewpoints. The only ones I refuse to watch or listen to are Keith Olbermann and Rush Limbaugh. I have never found that either has anything relevant to say. They just bash the opposition. In my opinion, the most balanced is Hannity and Combs because they present both sides of an issue and allow everyone to have a say.

I don't think they are brainwashed, per se, I think when you generally agree with what's being spun, you don't question its source or that it might have political spin. The reverse is true when you disagree with what you see and hear reported, you can see all kinds of spin whether it is there or not. I think this applies to both parties because I see FOX as having right spin and all the others liberal spin to some degree or other, CNN being the worst offender

Any broadcast news that haphazardly inserts opinion during the news is biased. Just listen to any of those news casts and decide for yourself - when any reporter will put their opinion (however popular the idea) into reporting the news. If you believe that CNN and MSNBC are biased - you're right. But don't believe that Fox news is some bastion of 'truth'.

I create my opinion based on a wide range of news sources

You've got it! Most Liberals come from families that are Liberal and really cannot give you a good reason why they think that way. They were brought up watching NBC. Fox is new to them and they won't check it out to find that both sides of the coins are represented. Also they cannot have a different point of view because their friends are Liberals, and their favorite movie stars. And they say conservatives don't like change? But they belive manipulated stuff on "You Tube!" or other propaganda media.

I don't think they are brainwashed.

I am not a republican or democrat and I don't watch fox news, however, since I watch NBC or ABC from time to time, I can tell they are slanted to the left...just like when I used to get Fox news I could tell they were slanted to the right.

I find BBC to be good news that doesn't slant too much. I hope that one day there will be a news station that doesn't have a political agenda and just reports the news.

Who knows what makes libs tick, but try watching Katie Couric on the evening news this week. She spews the most
liberal slanted news and anger that I have ever seen on a major network. It is no wonder CBS sustains the absolute lowest ratings.

Sam Donaldson has said publicly and repeats in his lectures that a journalist has a 'duty' to interject his opinion into a story otherwise he has wasted everyone's time.

Most news agencies have adopted that creed and Fox is no exception.

The liberals are all out of joint because Fox is the most watched/listened too media outlet and they can't understand it because they erroneously consider themselves in the majority. As a matter of fact, in certain rating periods, Fox has more viewership than all the others combined.

This calls into question their opinions and that frightens them so they lash out irrationally confirming their lack of confidence.

Ok, enough already. I have watched all these news channels for days at a time (no, not all day) to soak in what they had to say or report:
1. They all equally report a story.
2. They all equally have an anchor put in their two cents of that story.
3. ALL the COMMENTATORS are just entertainment and biased.
4. I don't believe everything any of the stations say.
